The purpose of this “contest” is to teach you how to make healthier decisions regarding what you eat. It is our belief that if we give you an understanding of how your body works and its relationship to your health and your weight you will be able to negotiate the crazy world of food science and prepared foods we are all inundated with and learn to eat a natural healthy diet. Once you have learned how to eat and to incorporate exercise into your daily routine, your body will naturally rid itself of your excess weight. Eating healthy is NOT hard to do it just requires that you make up your mind that you are willing to eat the proper foods and make the lifestyle changes needed to improve your health. This program is not only for you as the “contestant” but will also serve to increase the health and vitality of your family and friends if you share the information with them.
There is truly no such thing as a diet, there is only a healthy way to eat that provides your body with the nutrients and fluids it requires to maintain itself in a state of vibrant good health. We have tried to provide the information in a format that doesn’t become overwhelming in nature. Articles, recipes, and links to web sites we have found to be reliable and accurate in the information they provide will be emailed to you weekly. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ THE ARTICLES, USE THE RECIPES AND GO TO THE LINKS PROVIDED. Much of this information can be found on our website, under the forum category. Please check there for the articles and other information.
Understanding the concepts of eating properly will allow you to make the right decisions about what you put in your mouth. If you should have questions we are here to answer them. Just call the office and ask to speak with one of our doctors.
The contest is structured over a 12 week period, Saturday mornings from approximately 9-12 am. There will be private weigh in sessions, short classes with question and answer periods, field trips to various exercise and related facilities, and guest lecturers who are experts in their respective fields, all with the intention of exposing you to different possibilities regarding how to become proactive about your health. At the end of the 12 weeks, it is our sincere hope that not only will you have lost weight, but will have learned how to handle your diet in a way that is consistent with good health.
