Described as “meditation in motion,” this ancient Chinese Martial Art actually originated from a Taoist monk observing some animals; according to Chinese legend. While watching a crane and snake fight, this monk noticed that both animals used moves and put themselves into the positions that were best to protect themselves. This self-defense was incorporated into Tai Chi with serene and gentle movements that were meant to connect one’s mind and body.

Tai Chi, by definition, is a series of moderate physical exercises and stretches in which rhythmic movement is coordinated with breathing and balance. Any age or fitness level can practice Tai Chi and it helps to relieve anxiety and tension. Tai Chi has also been proven to improve balance, reduce pain, and improve memory, just to name a few.
